USES OF QTIL CV 500 TABLET
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET is used for the management of various bacterial infections such as:
- Pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis
- Acute bacterial otitis media
- Acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis
- Lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia
- Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis
- Skin and skin structure infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Bone and joint infections
- Gonorrhoea (uncomplicated and disseminated gonococcal infections)
- Early Lyme disease (erythema migrans)
- Septicemia
- Meningitis
- Switch therapy (injectable to oral) after surgery when the patient’s condition is improved
HOW QTIL CV 500 TABLET WORKS
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET is a combination of cefuroxime and clavulanic acid. Cefuroxime is an antibiotic that works by managing the formation of a protective coating on the bacteria, which is essential for their survival. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that works by reducing resistance and enhancing the activity of cefuroxime against bacteria.
INTRODUCTION ABOUT QTIL CV 500 TABLET
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET is a combination of Cefuroxime and Clavulanic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Beta-lactamase inhibitors respectively. It manages various types of bacterial infections like pharyngitis and/or tonsillitis, acute bacterial otitis media, acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis, lower respiratory tract infections including pneumonia, acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis and secondary bacterial infections of acute bronchitis, skin and skin structure infections, urinary tract infections, bone and joint infections, gonorrhoea (uncomplicated and disseminated gonococcal infections), early Lyme disease (erythema migrans), septicemia, meningitis and in switch therapy (injectable to oral) after surgery when patient’s condition is improved.
Before taking QTIL CV 500MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have a history of colitis, liver problems or kidney problems. QTIL CV 500MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients who are penicillin sensitive. QTIL CV 500MG TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women and is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children under the age of three months. The most common side effects of taking QTIL CV 500MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort or pain. Ask your doctor for advice if any of these side effects worsen or don’t improve.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Take QTIL CV 500MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your physician will determine the correct dose and duration of QTIL CV 500MG TABLET for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS
Nausea:
Take this medicine with meals or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult with your doctor if the symptom doesn’t improve.
Vomiting:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks; eat light, bland foods; and avoid fried, oily or sweet foods. Consult with your doctor if the symptom doesn’t improve.
Diarrhoea:
Drink a lot of fluids, such as water, squash or fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medication without first consulting your doctor. Consult with your doctor if the symptom doesn’t improve.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and more frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, contact your physician.

BREASTFEEDING
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as small traces may pass through the mother’s milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
Dizziness has been reported during management with QTIL CV 500MG TABLET and may affect the ability to drive and use machines. Consult your physician before taking QTIL CV 500MG TABLET.
KIDNEY
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor for advice.
LIVER
QTIL CV 500MG TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor for advice.
ALLERGY
Do not take QTIL CV 500MG TABLET if you are allergic to Cefuroxime, Clavulanate any other cephalosporin antibiotic such as cefadroxil or cephalexin, penicillin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
Before taking QTIL CV 500MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have:
- Sensitivity to penicillin
- Colitis

QTIL CV 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children under 3 months of age as the safety and efficacy of QTIL CV 500MG TABLET have not been established in this group. Consult your physician for advice before taking it.
Use in Geriatrics:

INTERACTIONS
Drug-Drug Interactions:
